“Mary - the Window of Wonder & Surrender”

FOCUS

Mary’s role & involvement in the birth & life of Jesus Christ cannot be overstated. She was informed by the angel Gabriel that she had found favor with God (Luke 1:30). As we look at the narratives that speaks of her, we need to know & always remember that we too have found favor with God. Not like her, but through the One she carried & delivered.

May you & I have a “Mary” Christmas like we never have before :-) … seriously, what we can learn from her story as it pertains to our story is beautiful & good.

Mary the Mother of Jesus Shows Us that …

1. whatever God’s will for us is involves wonder & surrender.

We can’t live fully engaged if our wonder & surrender are partial &/or sporadic.

Luke 1:26-38

2. saying yes to God carries a price & brings a pain that is significant & severe.

Sincerely embracing God’s will for our lives not only brings awe & wonder but also heartache & pain.

Luke 2:25-35 (especially vs33-35)

Making It Real

1] In what ways have you experienced wonder& surrender in your Christian life?

2] How have you felt the price & pain that comes with being a Christian?

Action Step

Prayerfully seek God for insight concerning any areas of your life where your sense

of wonder isn’t what it should be & your surrender to His will isn’t complete.
